Gavin is a sales and marketing executive with over 25 years of experience and success in Strategic Partnership Development, Sports Marketing, Integrated Media Sales, Sponsorship Sales & Marketing, and Sales Training.
Currently the Managing Partner at Gavin Roth & Associates – a revenue consultancy that focuses on sponsorship business development, strategic partnerships and sales training. Current clients include Lang Marketing, Toronto Pearson Airport, ONroute Highway Centres, Pfaff Auto Group, MLSE, TIFF, VR PLAYIN and The National Advertising Challenge.
Most recently, Gavin was Chief Commercial Officer at Golf Canada where he was responsible for Revenue and Marketing for all Golf Canada properties. Gavin led the team to revenue growth through innovative partnerships and new sales strategies. He also oversaw the re-engineering of Golf Canada’s media platforms and spearheaded the first-ever industry-wide social marketing campaign.
Formerly Vice President of Multiplatform Sales at Rogers Media, where Gavin led strategy and development of campaigns for advertisers that bridged the broadcast, publishing, digital and radio divisions, and Vice President, Sales at Canada’s Olympic Media Consortium (the official media rights holder for the 2010 and 2012 Olympics), where Gavin lead a team that developed and negotiated some of the largest integrated media partnerships in Canadian media history.
Gavin has also held senior sales and marketing roles with the Canadian Football League and WWE Canada, and spent 6 years in the ad agency world.
Gavin enjoys giving back to the Sponsorship Marketing industry, lending his time to the 5 to Watch Sports Business Awards program, the Sponsorship Marketing Awards and the SMCC Mentorship Program.
Gavin lives in Vaughan with his wife, 2 daughters and dogs. Besides family, his passions include golfing, cooking and consuming sports and entertainment content.
