Mark is the host of Sponsorship Week. His career in business-to business publishing began in 1983, when he joined Corpus Information Services (a division of Southam Communications) as a Managing Editor. At Corpus, and later at Southam Business Publications, he helped launch several newsletters, conference series and magazines.
He left Southam in 1993 to form Database Publishing, a company whose mission was to merge new data collection and management technologies with increasingly sophisticated desktop publishing technology.
Through evolution and a series of acquisitions the company is now focused on business-to-business information publishing, with The Sponsorship Report and Sponsorship Week as its mainstays.
As well as publishing and editing The Sponsorship Report, and convening such events as “Selling Sponsorships – Strategies for Success” and “Strategic Sponsorship Marketing – The Canadian Summit,” and now “Sponsorship Toronto,” Mark contributes to several Canadian magazines and newsletters. He holds several Canadian Business Press editorial awards.
Time and weather permitting, Mark is sometimes found SCUBA diving Ontario’s lakes and rivers, as well as the warmer waters of the Caribbean and elsewhere.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a Master’s from the London School of Economics, and a second-degree black belt in Shorin-Ryu karate.
